Does that mean that if our sites have a low bounce rate will rank higher? I doubt it, unless they have created a super smart AI to compare how different sites compare in the same niche in terms of visitors experience and bounce rate. But in the recent update all my sites went up and I did 0 off site SEO, so thats kinda related I believe.

There are so many myths about how Google counts the Bounce rate is an important factor. I feel lots of webmasters are listening bloggers non-practitioners and don't understand it clearly what is the goal of search engine.

Google definitely counts when you go to the website and after return to search with the same or familiar query/request... that basically means that document/page/site/answer didn't satisfy the customer. That means that the page is not relevant or not informative. Or the website is not easy to use.

Even IF Google uses Google Analytics as a source of data for core algorithm. That's is just generally stupid. Google should not care how is doing visitors from other referrals. The scope of the search engine to give the right answers to requests. I was working on a lot of sites with great positions and also use different Networks like PropelleraADS that was killing the general bounce rate. Because that is very cheap traffic without clear targeting options. And we used even clickbate ads to drive as much traffic as possible. Positions didn't fall... because page WHERE RELEVANT and bounce rate from organic traffic was way better.

my personal opinion on this is that it does matter. Google has shown in the past that they want to provide the user with the information they desire with the least amount of clicks. They have even switched many features to show on the google search and not even send the user to the external pages now. So i'm of the belief if someone comes to your page and bounces back to the search engine that it's a signal to google that your website didn't need the requested search and it will impact your rankings in google. This is only 1 of a thousand things that impact the ranking results
