What would you do?

So some guy on another forum was asking what everyone thought of his brand name, logo and even examples of the apparel and equipment he wanted the brand to be printed or engraved on. Honestly, it was good. Clearly some real thought behind it.

I was gonna give him some tips on SEO since there was non-relsted brand with the same name and also that it’s not a good idea to be telling everyone about it since it’s not even been trademarked. Then I thought hang on a second, what if I trade mark it and ask him to pay ten x price if he wants it, instead if being nice. Everytime im nice people throw it back in my face so maybe it’s time to be a little more hard-nosed.

What would you do?

I think it depends on if you think he would even pay for it. If you're going to be a dick, you gotta make sure you really gain from it - otherwise you're just burning bridges for no reason.
