Let say you bought an expired 20 years old domain with DA 40 and 300k non-spam backlinks.
Its name has no meaning, and has a specific country TLD.
Before expiring, it was a non-profit website.
What would you do to monetize it?

Set up a on page service (youtube video downloader sites) online, and rank the page to get traffic. Monetize with adsense

I'd PM the domain to me

But honestly, just figure out a site you can start on it and use it since it has backlinks already built to it.

a lot depend on niche , i mean what niche is those backlink, what kind of communit.
since it's 300k not spammy links than some of the links should bring real traffic to the site. what kind article in the links.
well if you are still confuse. just sell the domain lol
