What would you do with a billion dollars?

I would hire someone to purchase stock in 100's of technology companies and then just watch what happens.

I would also buy my favorite sport teams and become the GM and put together dynasty teams

I will too... I don't need the billion. I will convert that billion into 10 billion in no time. Even if it wouldn't work out that way though, which I doubt. I would still be okay with making a few millions a year. I don't care about money. Money is trash.

Buy some satelites and rent out data streams to businesses for money.
 
I'd buy every website in my niche. Redirect them all, and have the largest niche website ever. I'd then make my own company in said niche.
 
A billion is a lot of money. Most answers are the kind of things you can do with a few million. You can drive a bus and save a few million over the years, but a billion dollars is real money. It makes a dent.

I'd probably do what all the other billionaires do: philanthropy, lobbying, and investment.
 
Start off with 17 Mustangs, three beach houses on different continents, statue of me of pure gold (75 kg), a Jaguar, invest in an assload of start-ups, work on some businesses, put some cash on the side and blow the rest on gummybears.
