The short answer is: avoid fighting until late game, play for placements and drop somewhere that isn’t contested much so you don’t have mucH RNG in the drop.
The long answer is if you want to rank up in the long term you shouldn’t care about your rank at the moment, and should focus more towards improving at the game which means fighting people consistently. It just comes down to what your priority is atm
