Hey guys!
I‘ve been pretty rusty with SEO in recent years.
We are a software company and more or less abandoned our blog, or at least good performing articles, for one specific software.
Consequences are that one article which ranked around the top 5 for years and brought in roughly 10k traffic, crashed down to 28th rank to date, losing 90% of the original traffic.
Back in the day the skyscraper technique did work, but I feel like everyone catched up with it. I don’t feel like boosting up the article with more text and content would help that much.
What would be your first steps to bring articles like this back on top?
The software website is pretty well cultivated. As far as I can tell, speed, mobile, etc. everything is optimized.
The articles on the blog have high quality, all of it has been written by professional writers over the years, SEO optimized.
The software however is in a multi-billion dollar niche, so you could guess the power of the competitors. I guess rank 1-5 is untouchable.
My goto tool to utilize is Ahrefs.
I‘d love to get some input and ideas to tingle my brain. Since SEO can be so fast-paced, I feel like I‘m not up-to-date right now.
If you remember an article about this topic, feel free to share aswell.
If anyone wants some more details (niche, software, keyword, article, ..) to help out, feel free to DM.
Thanks to everyone chiming in.
