I’m looking to get into the mobile game business but not sure if I should learn coding myself or just hire a dev team for each game ?

Youd need to think in advantages and disadvantages

Doing it yourself is cheaper, but slower because you need to learn to do averything yourself
Having a team to do it for you is more expensive, but maybe they know what they're doing and maybe they'll have a more aesthetic result

Depends on many factors

As it seems that you are not proficient in the coding the games.
It would depend on the time restraint you have instead.

- How confident are you to learn the language in x amount of time? Is it possible to wait
- How confident are you finding a decent dev team

If you are short on time, I would recommend finding a dev team as (unless your games ain't going to have updates) it would be a constant amount of work.
Bug / error fixing, updates etc etc. + New Games.

Totally agree

I have decided to learn to code using unity, i simply have to put in the time.

The most important thing is how to monetize your app?

How to rank it in the appstore and playstore?

It's better to hire coders and focus on the marketing side.

You can start testing by buying an already existing app and rebrand it.

Good luck!

but if i learn to code i can soft launch a game for example with 50 levels to see the metrics . That would be cheaper since i can reuse assets to do many soft launches.

I'm not into dev games!

Yes, you can start your game with a minimal version and improve it according to your metrics.

If you're really determined to learn how to code, you'll benefit a lot from this skill in many areas.

You'll need also to market your game correctly
