What works for me is to read the threads here, pick the ones I am interest in, and try out the methods.

Asking what works for other people is a waste of time. Go to work

I started in IM by writing articles for large companies that have deep pockets. I sell a package of 30 articles (SEO, of course). It has been the easiest way for me to make money on the Web. This does pay the bills plus quite a bit extra.

I guess I will just have to try and experiment otherwise it looks like I won't be getting anywhere.
