Hey guys,

Just a simple question what worked for you when you jumped in IM, I know everyone faces trial and error..

Here is what worked for me.
I read read & read tutorials on IM from WF, BHW(as a guest, recently made an account) & HF. Then I started by promoting my adfly links everywhere, and turned out to be a fail, tried botting adfocus earnings & they red-flagged me. Then I read a thread somewhere of eWhoring.
Went to different chat rooms, acted like a whore and an aussie guy bought my pic pack for 14$. That was my very first earning. ^_^

Now my aims are:-
CB
Email marketing
A youtube partnership
Adsense

Share your experiences as well.

Started with promoting adult affiliate programs, haven't looked back since. 10 years in and it gets better every year!

How does one go about promoting adult products? I would think SEO would be hard to get for these type of sites.

I started making money selling items in online video games and later went into affiliate marketing and other website stuff. I am currently working on getting a couple authority sites, but I would have to say most of my income comes from youtube and google traffic and promoting affiliate products :)

ya its good youtube in dating niche will be very good ....ie u can make some more conversations and get some fast cash and another one is email marketing better to take some leads it will be fine

Many people here started out promoting adult, Why? Because it's probably the simplest niche to break down and really analyze. Most of us have experience (being males) in knowing what catches our interest when we're feeling squirly. This allows us to fine tune what works and what doesn't by putting ourselves in our audiences shoes. (if we can stay on task ;))

These are the concepts of marketing, once you start you won't be able to stop.

Currently, social media and email marketing are my internal traffic sources. Social's a great place to start because most social networks have men, which is quit a large target audience.

I made my first money with content locking, then I moved into building small micro niche sites promoting products, as well as CPA banners because I was greedy. But the money wasn't that great, and I wasn't really happy with the value I was bringing to the world, almost none at all.

So now I'm going into offline marketing, offering marketing services to local businesses. Hopefully build a successful business of my own out of it, network with people and form relationships with people in my community, and not just be a faceless person on the internet which is okay but I'm very bored of it and it's lonely.

Is it necessary to have a website to promote affiliate products?

I myself have always wanted to pursue offline too, just not enough time in the day with all my online.. I need a clone. You should go for it man, there's SO MUCH potential out there.

Is it just me or am I the only one that feels lightyears ahead of everyone 'in real life' when it comes to the Internet?

Thanks for the encouragement. I know that feeling, it can be a good thing "hey I can make some money off my knowledge", but also a bad thing "how the hell do I explain some of this stuff to these people..."
