See in England, it is remembered for the medieval times with jousting and kings going to war as such. There were the cowboy times also.

What will our era be remembered for mainly? We remember those times for the bent kings and queens where murder was not usually a crime.

So the question once more, not what YOU personally will be remembered for, but what will our TIME be remembered for?

da computers and the lil people inside it.
what a sad question though.

Technology primarily, but it's always advancing so I doubt it will be remembered for here, as it was an invention and is constantly progressing. I mean the time, how life was for example.

It will be remembered as Arab Revolution, and Internet age :).

You assume the human race is going to last much longer at this rate of expansion and corruption :)

Arab Revolution? You mean in politcal terms regarding the Revolutions in the middle east at the moment?
Or Arabs become a little richer because they are sitting on oceans of oil? Anything the Arab world is doing now, over coming opression, moving out of the 7th century, attempting to begin, to start, to reach the tip of the iceberg of what the west was doing 50 years ago ;)

Certainly not anything to do with advancments in technology.

The west along with China/India/Japan will take the glory for anything modern and technologically advanced.

Kim Kardashian and the Internet . . . although I am not too sure about the internet. :D

What about SHEEN!?

I can just see it now, 2 Japanese men meeting up for sushi in their personal virtual reality device, "Sheen was great man, half man, half cocain, he was WINNER!

Indeed, as there is no hard evidence that it won't live on.
well our current society isn't sustainable, we use too much resources needlessly and don't create enough things to take their place. there has been multiple military conflicts happening all around the world every day since the first world war. something like 100 or more species go extinct from the earth each day as direct cause of industrial capitalist expansion.

it's quite obvious we may as well be remembered for the destruction of the civilized world.

I believe it will be known as the "good ol' times of free Internet", otherwise nothing special about our times.

Reality television and all of the wannabes like Jersey Shore, Paris Hilton, etc.

The big events will always remain in history, like earthquakes, assasination of gouverment leaders and so on,not mainly England related but w/e

Something relatively insignificant and surely chosen randomly; just big enough to fill a section of a school textbook. Jousting was probably the last thing a regular peasant or city dweller cared about and the wars were more like border conflicts or at least nobody like England, France, Spain etc. really intented to completely conquer the opposing country. We also have the occasional Napoleon, Hitler or Stalin but those are not favorites since at least a thousand years need to pass before some insane mass murdering freak can be revered as a great guy as it happened with Julius, Hannibal, Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan and the rest of the bunch.

As to the corruption, I don't know. Something tells me it was way more rampant just 500 years ago. Maybe that should fill our textbooks as it is the most profound factor deciding whether a nation is to be rich or poor.

I bet our time will be remember from Falling of criminal banks, maybe a war between europe and muslims, Maybe NAto vs China war over africa Since they are developing technolgy to gather the solar power and heat energy to whole new level. And i bet those deserts are best place to put them in. Maybe world war 3. Well these might be bit political. I don't think the technical advancements on computer stuff are that long yet that they would be remembred as something big.

Also there are lot of different aged people on bhw from -15 to +60 year so "our time" might vary a bit :)

When I say our time, I mean from say, 1900 to current. Yes, most technology was created in that time frame, however, it is constantly being upgraded and made more powerful, so it will not be remembered. When I say times such as the medieval times, they are times we cannot re-live, the way people were etc. So what will this time be remembered for? How we live? I doubt that.
