What Went Wrong? Or Is It Just A Dance Or What?

i dont know what went wrong but the pattern seems like the algorithm is rolling back to 2 months ago for my SERPs...

ok so here's how it is,

back in February, I was ranked around 10th-12th for keyword A and around 10th-11th for keyword B. On March I jumped to the first position for keyword A and 2 weeks later I also got the first position for keyword B. I thought it was just a dance because how on earth I could jump 10 spots all at once (instead of climbing slowly...)

but my ranks stayed there until early May (so basically I was in the first spot for both keywords for more than 6 weeks). Few days ago, however, I am back to the 11th position for both keywords. I'm wondering, what went wrong? Is this a google dance or what? DOes it mean my "real" position has been always on the 11th spot? Or I really "deserved" the first spot back in March-April but then I did something wrong?

If i'm not mistaken, google has Farmer & Panda update during the period that you get your top ranking. It may affect your ranking.

Getting the ranking is just part of the game, you need to maintain it or you'll lose it.
Keep building links, don't give up, eventually you will get back your ranking.

Similar thing happened to me.

Strange, but the same thing happened to a site of mine around the same time as you. I think that Google just likes fucking with us. lol

I have an update guys. For one of these two keywords, I am now #4. It's very weird. Basically here's the history for this keyword:

February 2011: #11
March-April 2011: #1
Early May 2011 (until yesterday): #11
Today (12 May 2011): #4

What the hell is happening?????? :S

yeah of course. I'm still building backlinks and I dont know if it's because of the Panda update but I thought Panda update was hitting websites only at late March to early April?

sAME THING is happening to me, and im in a fuc*king bad mood

All my sites got affected starting in April. Some wierd effects are going on since then.

I have a great number of keywords ranking #1-#5 which got hit and went to page3 or 4, and many to nowhere.

And the really wierd thing is that 6 of my old spammy affiliate sites which have been untouched for more than a year suddenly hit #1 position in these 2 weeks!?

Something with the Google algorithm is definitely going nuts.

My whitehat sites are going nowhere and yet 6 of my spammy thin affiliate sites which I have not touched for a year (and has stop building links) are ranking #1 now.

Weird weird weird ....

Today 3 of my GH sites dropped, actually last night. Clicks dropped like 85%. I'm not in the greatest of moods right now... And a bunch of crap image search traffic hitting now, useless.

Not interlinked sites... But I did do blasting with AMR on them..

seems like i'm staying at the #4-5th position now, have been there for 2-3 days...I dont know but at least this is a good sign (considering last week i was #11). Im still hoping i could get back to top 3

Wow it looks interesting, Is it means that Google is rolling back there changes since farmer and panda had a bad effect for many reputable sites ?

Something is definitely not right because a few of my sites that are almost 3 years old and had #1-3 spots in the SERPs for their main kws all of suddenly dropped to bottom of page 1 and all the way back to pages 5-6. There is really no new competition that has come in to take my places, but just the same unoptimized store sites. The rankings for these sites had been consistent for the past year or so. So don't know why the big drops for my sites in the SERPs.

Just checked one of my squidoo page, It was ranking #3 before panda and farmer then after that algo change it was buried down into 5th-6th page of Google.
And guess what................its nowhere now in rankings completely kicked out for that keyword but its still ranking for some other keywords which were not my main target when doing SEO.

This is common issues with SEO.
Just build backlinks and climb in ranking
