What website has the best design?

Some of my favourites:
- dropbox
- digitalocean

I always try to copy at least some of the philosophy behind those sites:
- clean design
- lots of whitespace
- coherence across the board
- focus on something that makes them unique
- think about some flows they have and maybe why did they make those choices...

This always depends on the audience you want to reach with your website. In my eyes, there is no "best design". Like for a search engine, google have an amazing design, but for a news website it would suck.

In general it is often a good way to go with a simple design with a good overview.
 
We work with bootstrap for our templates and it is simple looking and very professionnal. Max 3 colors for the template too
 
I really like dropbox and empireflippers design. Simple and clean!
 
I think it has to be simple as possible at same time easy to navigate. And it should work on mobile devices.
 
I tend to like designs that are simplistic, not mininal. the colors are simple but the website still has rich contents and all.

Like designcrowd etc etc
