...and give the details of how you arranged it and split the profits.

I have a gut feeling that this is how the big internet marketers have made their money and not by following the crappy courses they try to sell you.
I think maybe they create a product (or buy the license to one) then build their empire doing JV's and building contacts to keep selling their product and make money that way...as opposed to building 100's of niche sites like they tell you to in their useless courses.
Just a noobs opinion though :)

I was paid $10k to take down a competitor using Blackhat techniques. Apparently the guy who hired me had clients who has been affiliates with the competitor, and they got burned pretty bad.

I succeeded. 10k Cash through wire.

I helped a buddy of mine build out an on-line store and then connect it to their terminals. Turned out to be a $40k pay, with a nice 35% take. That was back in 2005.. was my biggest JV.

take down through seo or what?

I have a feeling they do this as well. I mean hundreds of sites is just too much work anyways..

Yes, you are right...they the marketing guru's don't know SH!T anymore about SEO, whitehat, blackhat...hell I was with a few people the other day (guys who trade emailing lists in the millions, and not CRAP ONES, FRESH!) and I was asking a few things about content locking, autoblogging after the panda update, etc and they were just like....hahah WHAT?!?!

Dude, you need to understand...in life, after you make a few MILLION, it's ALL about WHO YOU KNOW!

Those are some big amounts for JV's but they're not JV's in the sense I was talking about. I was talking about say a guy with a list approaching a guy with a good product and agreeing to promote the product via the list splitting the profits between them.

Anyone do these kinda JV's and getting any kind of decent $$ from it?

Docbrown you are right on the money with your theory.

Its all about having a product or a list and hiring people to do anything else needed.

I am finally seeing the light on this thing and have put off building a list and creating a product for way to long.

I think to have a long term legit Internet business a list is a must have, all these other methods for quick cash don't work, or they are just temporary.

So I am thinking long term... Kim Roach lays out the plan on her site.. I have just never really put it to action.

So list swapping promoting other peoples products or even if you have a product you can let the guy with the list have all the profits and gather that targeted contact list for future back end marketing. well get you some quality contacts.

While it is easy to follow the IM niche with this, I would love to come up with something that caters outside of the niche.

Something with hungry buyers who are out of the IM loop. That way you steer clear of the freebie seekers.

Still working this out myself so any other brainstorming is surely welcomed. :)
