I've seen negative feedback to bit.ly, which I thought was one of the most popular url shorteners. What are some url shorteners that regular people don't mind when they come across on the internet?

I agree with the prior posts. These are all good. But it depends on what analytics you are looking for.
I also use
iplogger [dot] org
In conjunction with bitly so I can get added tracking info on where clicks come from.

What negative feedback? I'm pretty sure, bit.ly is still one of the most trusted and well-known url shorteners out there, if not the most trusted. Goog.gl was trusted too, but it got discontinued, although the created short urls will keep redirecting indefinitely. Besides these the other most popular is tinyurl. These are all around since ages. All the others are either smaller/not as well-known/younger, so they don't have the same level of high trust just yet.
Then there are the very own vanity shorteners of social media sites: Twitter - t.co, Youtube - yt.be, Facebook - fb.me, Pinterest - re.pn etc.

As others said, I'd go with bitly or tinyurl. I'm not aware of any negative comments about bitly but I know *some* sites flag bit.ly links as scam, so maybe use tinyurl if that's the case

Bit.ly has my vote too , really easy to have control over the data. I dont know what negatives you are reffering tho
