What type of sites do you use in tier 1, tier 2, tier 3, and tier 4 links? Please suggest.

tier 1 - web 2.0 + Doc. sharing sites
tier 2 - web 2.0 + wiki + bookmarks
As tier 3/4 links you can use all kind of links, just make sure that the OBL isn't too high.
 
adding to the guy above me - for Tier 1 ... I use PR and some Articles .. sometimes some .edu blogs when available as well.

really focussed on putting out Quality Content at that level to be honest as Google is figuring out Crap Work these days alot easier and its hard to get out of penalties as quick as you would like.
 
Tier 1 : web 2.0, Press releases, Profile page from sites like mozilla, cisco, opera etc ( Unique and High quality contents )
Tier 2 : web 2.0, article directories, social bookmarking sites, wiki etc ( auto generated and spun content with tools like SEO CONTENT MACHINE )
Tier 3 : article directories, wiki, doc sharing, blog commenting, article directories, video, image etc ( auto generated )
Tier 4 : Scrapebox blast :D

I like this - tier 1 being quality guest posts would probably be the safest bet these days.
 
I am using tier1 and tier2 sites because these are only the sites that can give us huge benefits in ranking, traffic, etc.
 
Tier 1 web2 with own domains, not we2 domain, tier 2 web2 and three and four your usual crap.

This one looks like the golden ticket to me. Diverse and high quality.
I need to get some automated tools to help build up those Tiers that are 3++.

Only thing Ive done that Id add to this is Social Signals to everything, Forum Links, and some Yahoo Answers. Mixing Follow and No-follow links has been successful for me this far.
 
*Tier one PBN, web 2.0, bookmarking sites, business directories, press releases, links from wikipedia, manual blog comments from related sites, forumposts from related forums, fanpage, twitter account, i post images automatic to Flickr and Pinterest, i created videos for video sites like youtube.

I mix do and nofollow links to make it look more natural, no backlinkprofile should be without nofollow and some bad neighborhood links, that is more natural afteral.

*Tier two everything else that can be automated. (exept i don't use a tier two on my PBN)

I don't use more then two tiers as it is my firm belif (and my data support my beliefs) that more tiers are a huge waste of time and money, no matter what Matt Cuts says.

I agreed with a slight difference that in the tier1 i used to put some social signals.
