I know its been asked before, but no one ever gives a full detailed answer as to why.

What type of backlinks should you focus on?

Blogs
Social Media
Gov
EDU
etc...

What backlinks show up quicker on getting indexed?

I've had a blogger account for a month, and its still not showing up on my backlinks.
And the blog has great content that ties to my site.

A lot of my social media isn't showing up. BUT... Flickr images showed up in hours?!?!

All of them.

You don't get a straight answer because there isn't one. Focus on one or two types of links, and your rankings will surely suffer. Don't worry about the links showing in backlink checkers or webmaster tools either. Just because a link doesn't show up on something like that, doesn't mean it isn't affecting your rankings.

Like midiman said. Diversity is key in the post penguin era. Try to get links from as many different sources and platforms.

That being said 2.0's aren't a bad focal point.

I agree, but it seems like your always running in circles jumping to all the different linkings.
I swear I spend all day creating backlinks.

Is there any particular 2.0's that are an easier way to submit?

I agree with themidiman , Instead of worrying about the type of back links pay more attention to the quality Pr , total links on page ect.

All of them across all of your pages with at least ten different variations on anchor text. Anything else is a ticking time bomb.

If you are referring to software to submit to 2.0's blogbot express is free and will submit to 15 or so. Its in the downloads section. Senuke is expensive but can create you tons of 2.0's. Zennoposter or ubot require a lot more setup but will give you more control over your posting

If only it were so easy as to say "this type of link is the best." The algorithm is far more complicated than that. However, in my opinion, one of the best types of Tier 1 links are contextual links, so platforms where you can post a full article above the fold.

If someone told you then they would have to shoot you!

I'll give you a hint, without spilling the beans, as to what works. Relevancy

build theme/niche links and diversify your anchor texts and link platforms..

These days with Google getting so smart it is very important for you to build all different types of links. Of course you still want to try and make sure you're getting links from related type websites.

My industry is very hard to find. I wish it was that easy.

Think about the people your site is aimed towards and find sites that attract those people. Building links from those sites through forum posts comments, social networking, etc. Track where your traffic comes from and what action those people take when they come to and leave your page.

There should be no single form of backlink you're focusing on. Focus on all of them. If Google ever targets a platform, you won't lose all those backlinks.
