what tool do you use to spy on your competitors?

hello pals, Please I'm new to SEO and for some time now, I have been trying to learn from the experts in this forum.I have successfully carried out keyword research and now I need to analyze the competition better and to spy on my competitors for backlinks, PR, e.t.c if I will be able to outsmart them before I proceed.
I learn SEOspyglass is good but I can't get it to work on my windows7. any alternative?
Please which tool do you use for this and would recommend? either free or paid..... Please help. Thanks

Seo Spy Glass and Traffic Travis. Both pro versions. The free ones work as well.
 
Actually, SpyGlass sucks. It only supports google to look for backlinks ( since yahoo API closed ) and we all know google only displays small portion of backlinks.

So here is what you gonna look for : SEO MAJESTIC, SEO MOZ, Ahref, Ibacklinkpro.

Another tip: go to Ibacklinkpro site and you will find a comparison between most best services out there. You don't need the comparison, but it will show you all other services and start registering for free versions. Compare and when you start making money, subscribe to the best one worked for you. Hey buddy, Thanks for your valuable thread, which is very essential for newbies. Actually i don't use any paid tools for analyzing my competitors. But i use some free tools which is very beneficial for me, these are-----backlinkwatch, opensiteexplorer, alexa, blekko. I believe these tools will satisfy you to spy on your competitors...So don't waste your time and be active by these tools. And please don't forget to give me any thanks.

Cracked version of Market Samurai until you know and understand more about SEO.

I've also found spyfu.com to be worth trying out, but alot of tools are way over priced.

I checked the Do Not Share list and didnt see Market Samurai, does the cracked version work with OSX?
