One thing that makes me very nervous about doing business on Flippa is.....

What if i win an auction, pay for the site using Paypal and the seller just never delivers the site???

I called Paypal today and they said since it would be a digital good i would no coverage on the item.

Does this mean the seller could just run with my money?

    Whats your input?

It's better to pursue it through PayPal than doing nothing, mate.
Sometimes they helps, sometimes they don't, you will never know before you tried.

I agree, best to try then to not try at all and if the seller rips you off and you arn't able to get your money back through paypal then you might need to fight fire with fire. Cough Neg seo Cough Thats probably the only way that you can pay him back lol

    1) Purchase sites from sellers with reputation. They're not going to lose their Flippa account to pull a one-off scam.

    2) Never pay for a website from PayPal balance. If you have money in your PP account then withdraw it and pay for your website, funding with Credit Card. If PayPal denies your claim then you have recourse through your Credit Card.

    3) If all else fails you make a PP claim saying "unauthorized transaction" (wife did without consent, child did without consent, etc) and you will win 99% of the time although you might suffer some sanctions by PP down the road.

Really though it's rare that sellers don't deliver and run off with the money. Typically it's the buyers using stolen cards, making false "unauthorized claims", or filing disputes claiming they purchased real products that weren't delivered.

If purchasing a website for more than $1,000 I would always demand escrow. PayPal is probably fine for smaller amounts unless you want to pay the escrow fees.

if you use flippa they alot of sellers are used to escrow and even offer you time to evaluate the site
