What to put on fan page?

What all is everyone putting on their fan pages apart from status updates?

I've been linking to, and commenting on news and information specific to my niche, but what else should I be doing? I've almost got enough fans/likes where I feel comfortable linking to a CPA offer here and there, but I'm not sure the best way to go about it. Should I build some kind of inline frame for the cpa offer inside of the fan page? What else should I be doing apart from making the fan page essentially a stream of status updates? How do you get people to interact with your page and get them to start spreading the word about the page?

Well im still new to all this but what I did was create an app and use an iframe plugin. To display a page on my fanpage that encourages fans to like the page. Then once they like it I get them again with another free offer and attach a cpa offer as a "bonus" upon connecting with my fb app I get their email and a link to my cpa offer appears right away plus whatever free stuff I offer them. Now I just started trying this so I dont have much info on how well it works. My first fanpage got shut down 3 days into I had 50 likes, I started over today and im up to 15 likes and I changed the aff offer to a simple email submit so im hoping for some decent results. I am curious however as to what others are doing? Oh I also post amazon product links through my amazon associates account too!
