What to learn to freelance?

I am new to coding. I wanna learn something so I can start freelancing on the weekends since I got a full time job in business administration.
Is there some specific language I can learn somewhat quickly in few months so I can find freelance work?
Also how much can I expect to earn working only Saturdays?

I would go to the popular freelance websites and see what kind of jobs people are posting to get an idea of what people are looking for.
 
People always need websites made or made better I would start there .
 
To freelance successfully, learn essential skills in your chosen field, such as project management, client communication, time management, and marketing. Additionally, hone your expertise, stay updated on industry trends, and cultivate a strong professional network.
 
Learn about landing pages. How to create landing pages. Which language is used to create landing pages. Then start learning that language. There are many who require landing pages on daily bases.
After that find people who require them by reverse engineering. Find people who are running google ads and ask them if they are in need of landing page service. Good luck.
 
I checked popular freelance websites to see what services people needed the most. Since SEO services are in high demand, I decided to learn SEO.
 
So, for me I would have always said programming. But, times have changed and while I think its still a valuable skill I'm not sure I would start here. With the emergence if chatgpt and codex I think the lower entry jobs are not a challenge anymore.

I do think there will always be niches to be filled and that's where you can make some money, but it's getting harder since everyone can jump in. For most, it's a race to the bottom.

FYI, I am not saying you can't put your time in and still make great money. I'm just saying that the barrier to entry is lower and people that weren't going to spend much are going to just have chatgpt or another service spin something up.

I haven't freelanced in quite a while for jobs in the hundreds of dollars, so I might be wrong, but that is my hunch. Reading people post here, on LinkedIn, Reddit, etc saying how easily they were able to create X with the help of AI.

If you do try something make sure to focus in on a niche.
 
I think selling/marketing skills are more important for freelance than coding. The niche is oversaturated

That's the thing. Coding is not a niche. Neither are most skills.
 
You may want to start with web development, either HTML, CSS and JS (and then upgrade to React/Vue), or to go with PHP.
 
Coding is great, but it's not a niche, that's just tools. That's like saying "I make my money with excel" or "I make my money with microsoft windows". Learn how to use them to achieve a certain goal.

Although jobs related to coding knowledge are fun and lucrative. You should look in creating bots and working with CRMs and databases.
Personally, I create webscrapers and web automations. But also the one or other excel cleaning. Currently trying to get into backend development, but I don#t have any time to study anything right now. Too overwhelmed.

It's also a good practice to get an admin job or something and try to automate it so you don't have to lift a finger. Do a job with the help of python, instead of looking for a python job.

Everyone just repeats like a parrot "just go to freelance platforms and research what others are doing", which personally I don't think very helpful at all because if you look, you will see just about anything really and it's overwhelming and pointless.

That being said: I am invested in this topic because I want to know more, too.
 
It depends on your chosen field, but if you want to learn something useful, I would recommend Python. It is widely used in automation, data science, artificial intelligence, and web development. Python is well-known for its readability and simplicity.
