Have about 50 EMDs that have dropped off the map. I find it funny that all my sites are gone yet plenty of spammy sites are all over Google for terms like "cheap viagra" or "buy viagra online".

Should I just keep doing what I've been doing and wait it out? Move on?

take few that unimportant and build more quality links.

Time to move to BING etc.. I'm all about BING these days after Google releases its beasts.

What kind of SEO methods did you use for those EMDs?

Just wondering so everyone else avoids making the same mistakes in the future.

just wait about 2 weeks and look at the stats again
don't do anything right now

no much chance. +1 for another linkbuilding idea, check the D/A, P/A, use it for link building, you can even make a new service on BHW BST :)

Don't panic, same thing happened to me but plan on adding some quality original content.

Been wondering the same thing.. just when they started to earn a nice amount of money, 90% of my EMDs disappeared from the SERPs and the remaining 10% took a serious hit too.

What I don't get is that G claimed to only target low quality EMDs.. Even though most of my sites are only 5 pages of content, they really are quality sites! I provide what the internet user is looking for so WTF

I'm gonna keep on linkbuilding right now and see what happens in the next 2 weeks.

use for linkbuilding, create your own blog network

+1 also.

I've had a few hit but not as many as others. but i'm turning them into a blog network even though some of my main sites aren't even hit. i'm turning away from having EMD's, the ones i do have.

About 2 days ago was new "EMD update" that means EMD penalty, you are not alone.
(Buy new domains)
: (

One of my slapped sites, has actually gone back to where it was?!!? NON-EMD though

Many of my sites with both EMD and non EMD are still where they were and more happy news is, some have even gained up. Only thing I was doing was building links from original content, social media and diverse anchoring.

But, people if you're thinking my sites are ranking with KWs like "Viagra", don't think so. I'm running sites with good niche.

Dilute your anchor texts and you'll be fine. Generally EMDs are hit because of anchor text over-optimization. Also if they are shitty 5-page thin sites that's a problem too. I have used EMDs since years ago and I'm still using EMDs and never had a single EMD get hit. But there are some particularities to SEO for EMDs vs. regular domains. EMDs are and will be the s#it forever. Problem is most people think only at the SEO aspect of them and in a messed up manner - they think if they have an EMD and put 5 pages on it to make a shitty, useless site that is a great strategy. It is not. A EMD is an opportunity to be bigger than others not a shortcut to mediocrity.

You need to remake them in Blog Network or you can do sell them at Flippa or last thing to do is to wait for December Update and Keep Build Links..I have 80% Chance that they will Regain again in 2 months with new Type of link Building if you do, also update us here when you recover...
