What to do when someone steals your content

This has never happened to me before and not sure how I should handle this.

There's this guy who has been stealing my content from few of my sites. He is using those mostly for his blog network backlinks. Being outright stupid, he is using same poorly spun (~20% unique) article for many of his blogs. This has hurt my rankings (I recently did 301 redirect which might helped him) and I'm looking for a solution for this.

I think I know this guy in person, he is not my friend but we have spoke couple of times in the past and that was when I told him about my sites. At least 1 of the domains match his name so I'm guessing he is behind this.

So, I've come up with 4 options:

A) Contact him and tell him that there will be legal consequences if he does not take all the copied content offline. (This is not the best option for some personal financial reasons)
B) Contact google and tell about these copyright violations and blog network
C) Negative SEO his site off the planet (does p0rn anchors still work?)
D) Contact this guy and tell him we are going to pay him a visit with big guys

Solution A would be best without these personal issues. I don't know if B would work? I don't have much trust in G. C would be fine with me, but I'm just a bit afraid that he realize who has done it and does the same for my sites. If I go this route, what's working nowadays? D is mostly a joke, I'm just really pissed off by this douche.

Ignore them..... as long your site got indexed first you have nothing to worry about

1- Send DMCA notice to his webhosting company so they will warn him.
2- Report Google via this form: support.google.com/bin/static.py?hl=en&ts=1114905&page=ts.cs

Agree with you, Indexed contents are useless

if you are the first indexed you are the owner so dont worry, and thats why you always have to put some internal backlinks in every article if they copy they give you free backlinks.

E) Go to there house and kick their ass..

All jokes aside, if you are using wordpress then install a plugin called pingler. It will automatically send your updated post to a fresh list of ping sites which might call the crawlers to come find your post as soon as you post it. The reason why I say "might" is because I noticed that google dose not seem to respond to pings anymore these days.. Due to it being abused and consuming alot of resource on their server when the crawler has to constantly spider a sites which is of low quality, or duplicate content, etc..

On the contrary...

I notice that the more unique content you post daily, the more frequently google spiders your site. BHW would be a great example.. The next time you create a post on BHW, wait 15-30 minutes and then google the exact name of your topic you just created, you'll notice that google has already indexed your post.

So if you want google to discover your post quicker, just post more unique content (several times a day if you can) and you'll notice that your post will get index quicker and quicker depending on how frequently you update your blog, etc..

My first guess was B. I'm still kind of a newb when it comes to this, compared to some of these guys here, but how did you know he's stealing your content? I use Copyscape and I don't think they're going to pick on something that's only 20% are they?
