What to do now?

Like a lot of you, my sites got crushed by the big G. So now, what the hell do we do? Do we continue to build links, just start over or can you put your content on a new domain and redirect our old site? Has anyone figured out how to get your rankings back?

What have happens, you just got slapped down in the results or have you gotten any other penalty?
My suggestion is to keep building links and adding content, but i havent been so much around chrushed sites either.

Just check the other popular threads from yesterday, it was like 3 threads were people discussed how to come back after the EMD update. One thing is for sure, you shouldn't give up...

Do you know why you've been slapped? Is it your backlinking, onsite SEO, poor quality website? Nobody knows! Take a look at your site and check the basics, is it good quality unique content, you haven't over optimized it, and are you getting enough diversity in your backlinking? There could be many reasons why it's been slapped!

I'm actually not sure why my main site got hit. My EMD's I understand because the quality wasn't the greatest but my main site is all unique, high quality content. I didn't get any warnings in G's webmaster tools, I just lost pretty much all of my rankings on Friday. I'm adding more content and quality backlinks so hopefully that will help. I'm not sure what else to do?

Google is going to destroy us all and run themselves in the ground while their at it. Went from $30,000 a month in sales to absolutely nothing. I hope they love ruining people's lives!

I wonder how many death threats that Fatt Cutts gets after this. After destroying the lives of families and good people, all just to make the billionaire stockholders more billions. Monopolistic pieice of shits! I would rather eat dog shit than send any of my hard earned money to google for some PPC bullshit.

Christ! How many websites did you have? Where all of those EMDs?

google slapt my arse too i had a chat site making me a grand a month on auto pilot, the funny thing was this chat site didnt have a chat room and the the site comprised of one page 3 lines of text and 3 ads units. i deserved it. ive moved onto pay per sign up adult affiliates and want to get into clickbank but bugger knows where im going to start.

I've abandoned some niches entirely. I can't compete with 100% paid ads above the fold that severely limits my ability to compete. Unfortunately Google is still rolling out paid ads that are overtaking new niches. What websites are safe today may be worthless tomorrow.

What to do now? Spend a few minutes of your time if you are an American to complain to the FTC or directly to your representatives here. I don't know the process for EU citizens to file a formal complaint, but from everything I've read the EU has more of a spine then the FTC.

Before I get all the posts that filing formal complaints and/or contacting politicians is a waste of time do consider that this is a freedom many in the world do not enjoy. The only waste of time is not following through with a formal complaint.
