OK, I've got about 7-8 launches under my belt, and I have always just done it this way:
I usually just block search engines from indexing until it the site becomes a minimally viable product (in other words, 'good enough for now').
I'm wondering though, is there a better way to do this last part? Should I be setting up a 'coming soon' page while I work on drafting articles? Is there another way to keep the site 'offline' until I'm ready to throw the switch and do more of an official launch?
Appreciate the feedback!
- buy domain
- set up hosting
- install wordpress
- add a few of my fave plugins
- add custom header
- tweak design
- commission or write about 5 articles
- set up pages to target one keyword each
- etc, etc
