I have an awesome website with awesome content. My competitors have shit content. Im on the 2nd page and they're on the 1st. WTF? I did everything there is to have amazing content, good backlinks, all perfect. And 0 results after more than 1 year. F*** this sh**

Gotta be a reason though right? Like if you imagine that there are infinite possible directions your life can take, and you tried the trillions of trillions of different combinations of things you could do to effect the positioning of your site, then some of those trillions of trillions would lead to your site ranking above theirs. Must be more research needed.

Content and backlinks aren't everything. Google algorithm is based on search intent. For example, if the keyword has "tutorial" in it, then the web pages having Youtube embeds will be preferred, if it has "How to", then those with FAQ will be preferred. You need to do A|B tests to figure out what's on Google's mind.

A shortcut for you is to check all the parasites within top 10 pages and checking their common attributes. This will help you understand Google's requirement.

What is the authority of the sites your trying to outrank? How old are they?

It might just be a matter of time.

From what I've read on this forum... everybody has the best content and backlinks.

It especially cracks me up when people talk about their amazing content and 0 backlinks.
My content is average and I'm working on it (tedious process but needs to be done) and still I get natural mentions on forums and in articles without me moving a finger. I would never believe it that awesome content can have 0 links to it. End of story.

So maybe your content is not the best? and backlinks are not that awesome?
