What tasks are worth automating first?

I’ve been thinking about automation and how scripting can save time, but I’m not sure where to begin.

For those already using scripts:

What tasks do you think are worth automating first?
Which ones gave you the biggest time savings?
Any beginner-friendly ideas to try?

Start with repetitive, rule-based tasks -- things like data scraping, report generation, and basic lead qualification usually give the fastest ROI. Once that’s stable, move into workflows like email sequencing or content posting where consistency matters more than complexity. The key is automating what you already do manually at scale, not jumping straight into advanced systems.

That’s a solid way to approach it, focusing on tasks that already exist makes automation much more effective.

Building from simple, repeatable processes before moving into larger workflows makes a lot of sense.

One thing I've learned is that the biggest wins usually don't come from automating everything at once.

I'd start with repetitive tasks that happen every day:

• collecting data from multiple sources
• filtering information
• generating alerts/notifications
• moving data between tools

In my experience, filtering is often more valuable than collection itself.

A lot of people automate data gathering, but still spend hours manually deciding what's actually important. That's where most of the time savings can come from.

For beginners, even a simple script that collects information from several places and sends a daily summary can save a surprising amount of time.

Once that works reliably, you can gradually automate ranking, categorization and prioritization.

For me, the absolute first thing worth automating is Account Verification and Checking
