What specs should i focus on for non-self-hosted streaming website

knownsrv - $2.95: 5gb ssd, 1gb port speed, unlimited bandwidth

Does not matter. With shared hosting which only loads text there is no way you use bandwidth in any way that it becomes noticeable for shared hosting. Choose whatever is cheaper.

start on the smallest package. if it's slow, upgrade to the next tier.
you are right as you are embedding videos hosted elsewhere, ur bandwidth won't be nutty.
depends on how complex your site is. i've sent 100k+ monthly traffic to the smallest knownsrv vps package, and zero bottleneck issues.

its because shared hosting they dont want u to take all the resources away. its only supposed to be for small user websites.
so for example theyll have 20 different ppl on 1 shared hosting and they dont want you to use 90% of the resources(as in u have 10,000 constant users).
u can get cheap VPS' for about $10 a month, but ud only want that for the first few months while setting up and trickling in customers.
the longer u stay on shared/cheap VPS, the slower pages load, the less likely ppl will bounce back to ur website.
