What spam score is acceptable for a website when building backlinks?

Recently, I've purchased paid backlinks with a maximum spam score of 17% and checked a toxicity score above 60 in SEMrush. I'm unsure whether I should ask them to remove those links or keep them as they are. What do you suggest?

And can somebody tell me more about Toxic Backlinks?

When developing backlinks, a website's spam score should be less than 5%, though remaining under 30% is frequently regarded safe.
 
Spam Score is not that much of a ranking factor. 17% is a not worrysome factor
 
What if I buy dozens of low quality high spam backlinks and link them to my competitors? Is this something that is being employed by bh seo? Will this penalize their website/rankings?

Up to 20% spam score is fine, (low spam score). But try to build links from low spam score sites. Which is safe and healthy to your website.
 
Completely irrelevant metric, I had sites rank even at very high percentages.

Moz Spam score is a metric of a bygone age.

Apparently there is no such thing as negative SEO. Which makes sense as if you field a massive list of extremely toxic sites, you can dominate every niche by killing your competition. The links will just be useless, only manual action by google will penalize you.
 
I’d recommend disavowing them ASAP. I’ve seen sites recover faster after cleaning up their backlink profile, but letting it sit can cause slow ranking drops.

A spam score of up to 15% is acceptable but a toxicity score above 60 in SEMrush is worrying, so it is better to focus on high quality backlinks to avoid penalties from Google.
 
Check where the links are coming from. If the websites are reputable and relevant to your niche, the risk might be lower. However, if they are from spammy or unrelated sites, it’s better to be cautious.
 
Less than 5-10% is better.
 
17% score is not an bigger Issue, but you should concentrate to those spammy backlinks, Keep track them regularly, If you faces any serious Issue, You can disavow them.
 
You don’t need to worry unless it starts affecting your website. However, if you continue getting links from sites with high spam scores, your website may face the same issue, and its spam score will gradually increase as well.
 
I would say spam score up to 17% is okay but below 10% will be far more better
 
spam score is depends on the DA or PA but but in any case spam score will be not more then 10%
or in your case spam score is 17% in my opinion its not good for your website
