Ability to fully analyze competitors. Your limited to your own website in the free version.
You CAN use aherfs.com and find "a way" to keep using it for free, but honestly, majestic has much more accurate info, and if I'm going against especially strong competition, I want to know EXACTLY what I'm up against.
BTW, in majestic vs market samurai... with majestic you can break down what your competitors use for anchor text, and what their actual back links are.

Actually with MS you can check that too for your competitors.
Don't know if it's accurate or not but you can get the anchor text your competitors used to build ranking as well with MS.

Under the radar guru's still find uses for it, but I believe most people are pulling away from using it nowadays.
To me, it's not nearly worth the investment of money, OR time to learn how to use it (one of the steepest learning curves).

Hmm I'll have to take a look at that again. Would make sense though since MS uses majestic SEO for its database

Ultimate Demon and Scrapebox and you are good in the hood. I would suggest: ScrapeJet, Market Samuri, LoopLines Formatter tool, The Best Spinner and Wiki Bomber is good too.
