funny you never mentioned keywords, Thats the start of the journey and good keyword with good searches per month (on exact) and decent competition, start with google adwords tool, all else comes after.
100% correct. everything else BEFORE this is a waste of time. everything else WITHOUT this is a waste of time.
get the keywords sorted out and then get the articles ordered based on keywords you know you can compete for - so lets say youve done exactly that and your 70 highly seo'd keyword rich articles are going to arrive shortly.....
id be wary of putting all my eggs in one basket - i.e. primarily using article directories, when you can do something like this:
FIRST, create a couple of feeder sites (keyword2.com, keyword3.com) that 'feed' into your main website (which is keyword1.com) - NEXT, from the wordpress*com/blogger*com sites youre creating, post a link on your to keyword1.com site & then, post a comment to your own wordpress*com/blogger*com site using an anchor text link as your 'name' and have that link going back to your feeder site keyword2.com
repeat the process, with a link still going to your main site (keyword1.com) but this time when you post a new comment to that wordpress*com/blogger*com site, the anchor text link goes back to your keyword3.com site INSTEAD.
you seem to be saying that youre happy to create 30 separate wordpress*com or blogger*com blogs which is mightily impressive if thats what you end up doing, but are you intending to post all 70 articles on each of the 30 blogs?
either way, its an interesting subject of debate that youre opening up here because A QUESTION TO EVERYBODY RREADING THIS, is would it be better to have (say) 15 blogs with 4-to-5 posts on each (thus using up your 70 articles), or 7 blogs with 10 posts or even 70 blogs with just one post on each etc etc
anyway, after that, what id suggest that you turn each article into:
1. a powerpoint & post to document sharing sites
2. convert the powerpoint into a video WITH music & post to video sharing sites
3. convert the powerpoint into a video WITHOUT music but with AUDIO & post to video sharing sites (USING DIFFERENT TITLE TAGS)
4. convert the video into a PURE audio file and post to podcast sharing sites
5. a spun version of your original article and post those versions to article directories
6. create photo montages & post to flickr, tumblr etc etc with links pointing to keyword1, 2 & 3 sites
7. set up a couple of squidoo lenses pointing to your keyword 1, 2 & 3 sites
8. using anchor texts as your user name, get some blog comments pointed at any of the above BUT NOT at your keyword 1, 2, 3 & sites
9. using anchor texts in your profile, do some forum profile blasts pointing to any of the above BUT VERY FEW at your keyword 1, 2 & 3 sites
10. theres plenty more you can do too: PRESS RELEASES, SOCIAL BOOKMARKING, etc etc
11. but quite frankly, if you were to do ALL of the above from 1-to-9, you'd be doing far more than many on bhw and seeing a lot more traffic than most
