Female stuff eg fitness and health, food recipes, fashion, home decor, DIY, etc

Create a few boards related to the categories from your site. Like for example I have a travel site so create multiple boards like Travel Tips, Cruise Travel, Food Travel etc.

Then get your followers up. Join a few group boards then start pinning your best posts.

As to what categories would work, see what's being pinned the most on Pinterest and go from there. Or just create pins depending on you niche. You should determine a niche for your site first, not a niche depending on what's on Pinterest. Pinterest is a good source of traffic but not the only one.

Create a borad by your niche related name. Then try to 4-5 Pin niche related post/images..

Pinterest has many female audience than male. Do something that capture the eyes of women. As said earlier, pins like fitness, cooking, DIYs and apparels attract women more.
