What should I do with my sites?

I have two sites and both of them are almost a year old. I have no links pointing towards either domain, and about 12 500+ (6000) word articles on both. What should I do to these to start bringing in some extra cash? I am wanting to make this site last so I can have a steady income with it. I know I should start pointing links towards it.

But, how do I do this?
Do I put one more artcle on each and just build links towards the new content
or should I build it for my old content first and then get new content?

Also, what is better: solo banners, adsense, cpa, or amazon? Or a combination of them.

Are you even targeting any keyword in those articles??

Yes. These sites are basically made to become authority sites. A buddy gave them to me that never did anything with them.

Post atleast 40-50 high quality articles , start link building simultaneously . Then any method will bring in money like clickbank,adsense etc

Alright, thanks. I'll just build links towards these and new content, then. I knew I needed more content, I just didn't know if I should start to push links first or get content. I'm going to do it all at the same time.

First you need to pick the Niche then post quality articles regularly and then choose the target keywords then you can build backlinks.

first write some quality content, drive traffic on it, and then apply for adsense, get approval and place the ads, start earning,

Combination of adsense and Infolinks works great for me,

affiliate banners is your choice.

yes you should give a new look to your article, give them a theme that can help you in getting your desire then in this way you can get your link words easily.next step will be easy applying for adsense, banner is necessary for this, you'll get effective rezult.

Do those already rank for some keywords?

What I would do:
The first think I would do is on-page optimization. I would go through the old content and optimize that.
That would help you even decide what the big niche is, this would help you for writing new content.
Prepare new content, begin doing outreach(building links) and after you have got some traffic begin
to experimenting with montetization. Try different stuff because ex. adsense would not work for every niche.

I already have the content and it is all optimized for on page SEO. I just needed info on the backlinks, but thanks anyways.

I would use some of that content and spin it then post on Web 2.0 blogs with links back to your website.

Basically you could syndicate that content to other sites.

I am starting a site in 30-40 days and I am planning to post around 10-15 articles daily for the first 150-200 days which should be in the range of 2000 articles after 6 months. All articles will be around the same topic covering every possible question that people ask (in this niche).

I am not planning any huge backlink campaign and I am not thinking about monetization for the first 6 months. That's how you should start if you wanna build authority site. Also, all articles should be in-depth, using authority tone, no slang, no grammar mistakes and made to HELP visitors, not to make the money. Once Google recognize you as an authority you won't have to do off-page SEO. Links will come sooner or later
