Hello,
My website/services just go live yesterday but I don't know what should I do now for SEO. What is the legit way to start?
Submit to directories, create 1 account in each web 2.0(talk about my product like official homepage), press release, is that legit and ok ?

Or have any other better way? please suggest me.

Happy Black Friday !

High quality press releases are very good way to start. After that few high quality manually built web2.0's with blast and you have good start.

Question: How would a brand new website promote itself if they knew nothing about SEO?

Answer = Social media promotion to get TRAFFIC.

Install analytics, get traffic, then you have a legit reason for gaining links (whether they are WH or BH).

So, step 1 = Sponsored social media posts / adverts to a black friday free delivery sale I think!

What kind of service is it?

Please don't tell its an SEO service.

Update unique contents , do some blog commenting relevant to your niche , participate on forum discussions , do some social bookmarking these things can be done as yours new site

It depends what type of site it is really:

1. Local Website - Focus on building out the citations first and making a few posts on Twitter / FB.
2. National Wesbite - Get the social traffic in, social signals and then start building your Web 2.0's / PBN or whatever links you're gunning for.

Just take it nice and slow, no one ranks a non burner site in under 2 / 3 months IMHO. Don't expect easy miracles, patient hard graft every day will always win in the end.
