Hey guys,
Hope this forum part is appropriate for posting this question; what should I charge for linking to a company's blogpost?
Being an academic I know that some background information may be needed to answer such a broad question. I am not sure HOW much you need but you'll find it in the next paragraph. Of course, I will not let you know anything about the niche etc. Don't even ask!
The keywords targeted are quite low volume. I have around 16k unique visitors each month. Note, I am quite happy with the amount of visitors as the niche is small. The company is related to my niche and my blog post, in which they want me to put the link, is very related to their product.
When it comes to the post they want me to link to, it is well-written and may be informative for people. Personally, I prefer my method of doing the things the cover in the post. Importantly, the post is not competing with my post. At least not for the keywords I am interested in ranking.
To return to my question; what should I charge them? They came up with some bs about sharing it in their newsletter and on their social media accounts (lying about thousands of readers and followers).
What I have done so far is telling them that newsletters and social media shares is not enough because it's a company. They are willing to pay about $25 as a one time fee. Personally, I'd rather see that they pay me each month. So.. what do you guys think? Should I charge more? Should I even let them have the link their. As previously indicated, it may be useful for some of my readers.
Thanks,
E
