What should be done to rank now a days?

I am doing web 2.0 submission with unique article and article submission in article directories.
Also I am bookmarking them. Also tweeting, g+ continues.
My site is now in #8 in the first page for a week but not improving.
So what else can be done to rank in google #1

Regarding the blog comment most of the blog contains large number of OBL.
Again should I do .edu profile link or comment in .edu blogs with hundreds of OBL?
Any suggestion are welcomed

Please do a search for the case studies, there are plenty out there with good results, the best method you will have is one that you make yourself, possibly combining a few other methods.

Could you please tell me where can I find them.

Do not throw blog comments and xrumer links at your money site. Use them only for tier 2 and tier 3 links.

You need to understand where is your audience and start build link around them. Now regarding the blog comment comment with the targeted KW in the content. Not with profile name.

Ranking before and now hasn't changed a lot, it's only that people used grey hat methods so they always have to change and stay up-to-date.


- Quality content, unique content, not spun stuff. If you're dong web 2.0s, make the web 2.0 quality, with images, videos, - proper SEO, unique article(s)(those that point back to your site should be unique).

- Proper Keyword Diversity, and proper site diversity. Try to target inner-pages as well.

- Quality press release, it adds a lot of authority to your website.

- High PR Backlinks , with edu/gov.

- Quality social signals

- Niche-Related backlinks

- Proper On-Site SEO.

These are just some, just make it look natural, quality , and you're good to go. Try focusing on quality instead of quantity, not spun stuff.
