Hi everyone,

I’m still at the beginner stage and trying to understand the basics properly before choosing a specific direction.

There are many areas like SEO, social media, content creation, and paid ads. From your experience, which area is best to focus on first and why?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi and welcome to BHW!

What are your skills, what are your interests - in marketing and in general?

If you already have a skill, you can offer your skill to people that needs it but if not, you can start Content Creation which is very relevant and if you concentrate on it very well, you will surely make it.

Hi! Thanks for the welcome . I’m interested in digital marketing, social media growth, and e-commerce strategies. I also enjoy learning about SEO, content creation, and exploring new online business tools.

I’d start with content + basic SEO. It teaches fundamentals like audience intent and messaging, and it compounds over time before you move into paid or social.

Content creation might be a good start as it is fundamental for the other topics you've mentioned.

I'll suggest for Digital Business NOT digital marketing. POD marketing can be the best option for you, just you should have to focus some points like
1. What should be your product?
2. Targeted Audience
3. Research about 10 niche ( for example halloween)
4. Choose Email marketing here ( if need Details how you should do it most easiest way)
Grow up your own business & not trying to demotivate you about your interest just you may need at least 5-6 months just to get well idea only, specially if i talk about content creation that's might be better but would better if it’s about tourist blogging & honest suggestion will be not to go paid ads at begging level. Thanks

If I had to pick one thing for a beginner, it would be understanding how traffic and intent work.

Start with SEO or content. It forces you to learn how people search, what problems they’re trying to solve, and how to match your message to that intent. Those fundamentals carry over to social, paid ads, and pretty much everything else.

Don’t try to learn everything at once. Pick one channel, build something small, and focus on getting your first real result. That’s where the real learning happens. :)

Know they self and your traits
Some areas of internet marketing won't just work if you don't have marketing traits
An internal assessment is the first thing to.do

As a beginner, you should learn SEO & Copywriting along with their tools. Among all these two things are the easiest to pick and have a clear direction. Try to learn how to find high ranking keywords, utilize those keywords in your written articles (you can take help from AI) but keep checking plagiarism and rephrase everything before posting.

What comes easily to you from those skills you mentioned? Content creation is relatively easy to learn and is sort of necessary for things like social media or ads. My advice is for you to pick one that you can see yourself doing for a long time and learn it properly.

You can then learn other skills after mastering one
