What setting on VPS server for tools?

I m running a number of tools on a 2008 Server R2 24hrs a day if i can. The problem is, when i wake up the tool running has stopped running shortly after i go to bed. EG GSA stopped running on the VPS 30min after i went to bed. I realize that my connection to the VPS drops but i really don't understand why GSA and other tools would just stop running, or pause until you log back in.

So my question is, what setting have you made on your servers?

Apart from any system crashes which may occur when you leave a job running;

Have you turned off screen savers (seems like the culprit)
Have you turned off hibernation and or made any other setting changes to power settings?
What performance setting have you selected for your VPS (eg 2008 R2?)
What display settings have you made?

Anyone have and input?

All your tools stop working and all same time?

This is not a normal functionality of a VPS, it should never stop
