I'm doing some research on free and paid SEO tools and I'm interested in hearing what tools you use to perform your SEO work. Whether its keyword research, content generation, backlinking, or anything else related to SEO, I'd love to hear what you are using and why it works for you.

This is a list of things I use on a daily bases:

1. Serpbook (obviously) for my keyword tracking.
2. semrush (generally to check competitors serp and keywords)
3. ahrefs (usually for backlink tracking)
4. autobacklink.me (for 5 diff auto backlinks)
5. 247pinger.com (FREE pinger to ping your links)

many moor... but this is my daily routine :)

For a start you may try using Google Keyword Tools for your keyword research. Then you can check competition of the keywords with other programs like Traffic Travis or others. I also use Ahrefs, generally to do backlink tracking, and Rank Tracker to track the progress ranking of my clients websites. There are many good keywords tools out there, which gives you indication on whether it's a money keyword worth to target or not. Can try googling it =)

Two tools I use on a daily basis is scrapebox and keyword researcher. I have a few others, but these two are what I use daily.

Thanks for the these suggestions! Anyone else from the morning crew have more to add?

My partial arsenal, use all of these at least every two days.
1. Ultimate Demon
2. ScrapeBox
3. Ultimate Niche Finder
4. SEO Powersuite
5. Serpbook
6. Captcha Sniper
7. GSA SER
8. GSA Indexer
9. Soon to be : Kontent Machine

usually these kind of thread ends up with rubbish like " USE YOUR BRAIN " its the best tool .. glad to see nobody typed that yet .

I'm a big fan of SEOMoz. Been a customer for years. They have tools for keyword research, backlink analysis, onpage optimization, and brand mentions. Very good set of tools!

The tools I use most often are:

My brain
Google Keyword Tool
Market Samurai
Traffic Travis

there are a few others I'll use occasionally, but those are the ones I use most often. The most important one is the first on the list. I've found some great keywords by just thinking about how someone in the niche I'm researching would search for stuff.

Have been using SEOmoz with a combination of 90+120 day free trials lately and I really like it. Not sure if I would pay $99/month though. I believe there are better tools out there for the price

Also, generally I will use Google Keyword Tools as it will give approximately 700-800 searches for the niche keyword. Then I will use Traffic Travis to check the competition of the keywords. You can also try out TT, with the keyword research function can give you quite a number of money keywords.
