What Proxy Software for my Server

I hope this is the right part of the site.

I'm in the UK and got a dedicated server in Dallas doing not
a great deal.

If I wanted to use this as a proxy server, so I can use the US IP address,
what script/software would you recommend??

I'm thinking of something very very simple, like a webpage that asks me
for the site I want to go to like anonymizer.

Anyway proxys are a new thing for me so any assistance

search for web proxy here or in google, some available
(I tried it once: not so much money to make with public web based proxies with some ads on the site)

install squid (a little complicated) for your own purpose

or maybe try some file upload stuff, some scripts available here at bhw

It's a Linux server. Just tried phproxy. Produces a blank page on my server.
Interesting. I get a lot of that - I'll try a different server

Be careful, many hosting providers don't allow proxies to be ran even if it is a dedicated server. If its a Linux server your best bet would be to run Squid, though it is complicated. Do you want that server to post like on Craigslist? Its easier with a Windows server, I run ccproxy on mine and works flawlessly.

I don't need squid and I'm not looking to post CL ads
or anything like that.

I just need a good Web Proxy so that I can surf and login on the web
with a US IP addy
