What platform do you recommend?

Just curious what your thoughts are on this subject. I am not talking about wholesale platforms. I am on the verge of launching my first store. After messing around in 2 Shopify trials, getting to know the system and designing a complete webshop from A to B.. I feel like Shopify is lacking some basic customization that a programmer like myself misses.

Having created Wordpress websites before, I feel like the possibilities are much more advanced when it comes to designing your shop. Looking at plugins available like Klaviyo marketing app, it supports both Woocommerce and Shopify. So I don't feel like that's a step back aswell.

What do you guys think? Is Shopify the absolute must for a succesful dropshipping store or you can achieve the same success with a Woocommerce store?

WP isnt perfect out of the box! But a couple of .js tweaks make it great! Dont like shopify at ALL.

Wordpress never is perfect out of the box, whatever you use it for. You will always need to tweak it and add in plug-ins, it's something I actually enjoy doing.

And exactly, I want my lading pages to be interactive. Two quick examples: A header with a text that is being typed out as soon as the page has loaded(this is an easy 2-3s to keep your viewer on your site, also good for your bounce rate) or if viewers scroll down, images and text float in. It's simple website psychology that keeps users engaged on your site and increases conversion.

Motion always keep people interested and focused. Im pretty busy but Im trying everything to advance on Python machine learning. Soon G will demand real time interaction so lets try a jump start.

What about the Ecwid? It's a free till 10 items

Depends upon your skill level.

Noob: wordpress
Pro: laravel? Yii?
Legend: django? Flask?

Oh btw.. the ux stuff you are talking about needs js... The platform doesn't matter atall.

Alright thanks for the input guys! I decided to drop Shopify and not be a slave to their monthly payment plan and go with Wordpress and WooCommerce instead. I am just way more familiar with that platform and feel like it's better optimizable as I will have access to FTP server, phpMyadmin and whatnot

What plugins are you going to be using? I'm in the same situation and trying to figure out wordpress plugins for dropshipping.
