on xp i used another tool which was able to speed up the boot process significantly, i forgot what was it called though

Cheers. Never heard of a couple of those. Will check them out. Always good to have a few in the arsenal as individually they can miss stuff.

Ccleaner all the way :-)

Linux.

sometimes I even update my system ;)

Lol yeah linux (Debian all day) is the way to go. . Now only if it was as easy as "apt-get install optimize-linux-and-fix-all-problems-with-1-click -y"

Last time I used ccleaner to clean my system and whatnot it deleted important startup files and I was left with like 10 errors upon bootup. Got angry at errors all the time so just reformatted. So I only use ccleaner to remove cache, cookies, junk d/l's now for windows.

the best for pc optimization is system mechanic

i tried a lot of them iobit, glary utilities ...but the *1 is system mechanic

None besides CCleaner for duplicate files or cache clean up. They will cause more problems later down the road. If you want true optimization, do a clean install every 2 years. Other than that, OS's these days are pretty self sufficient

I use linux so, not really needed. Don't have a junk :P

I also use CCleaner occasionally. For me just a combination of free Comodo Antivirus and Adblock Plus has worked great, I haven't had a major computer problem in over 5 years. When I used to have problems I would use Spybot (search and destroy) which works really good for a deep virus scan and removal. Lately I started using the Chrome browser again once I realized it was faster than Firefox (for now). These two always "leap frog" each other for fastest.

I don't use any, should I ? Does Adblock even count? :D
Honestly I use it only for my phone but never thought that some of those softwares are useful for the pc.

CCleaner, Glary Utilities, Revo unistaller, Perfect Disk.

Not a PC optimizing software but don't forget to download MalwareBytes and run some full scan from time to time, especially if you are a big download, you'll be amaze to see all the crap you can have on your computer even if you think that you are being cautious:)

I am using CCleaner for long days.. i don't go for other optimizing softwares

I used to use all kinds of tools 9 years ago, but these days I just use Ccleaner.

I use CCleaner Business Edition + Malwarebytes Premium + Avast Premier .

With all these i get online real time protection as well.
