What payment gateways should I use.

forget about 2checkout! avangate is better than any payment gateway.

This was an important question for me recently. I have came to a conclusion that there are more and more emerging alternative payment gateways that are worth considering. Though PayPal (disregarding all disadvantages) is still the most popular, there are systems such as Avangate, Paysera, WePay, that deserve attention. So, i would vote against choosing PayPal, as alternative companies often offer better prices and more attention to the client.

paypal and 2checkout are more convenient but still it's depend on your location.

+1 for paypal and it works great always. It is the most secure payment gateway so far to me and if you compare it with any other gateways, i could say paypal will wins the race lol.

I use Stripe. Its a really good payment service for accepting payment via debit and credit card.

now some new comers comes in Stripe,Braintree after 2CO ;)

Stripe is a wicked platform! Very easy to integrate with your website. Lots of good features. including mobile App to take payments directly from phone.

Paypal and 2checkout, both are good gateways. But I'd prefer Paypal as it covers all your need and secure as well. And most of online marketers has Paypal. So it's easy to work with.

Paypal is the most important account for Internet marketing.

Choosing you payment gateway completely depends on what business you are in. I have noticed the tendency that bigger businesses prefer using bigger providers like PayPal or Amazon, while smaller ones chose alternative payment gateways like Paysera or Payza. Usually alternative payment gateways offer better higher commission rates, but have more options that can attract more customers for you. For example Paysera allows getting back 1% from any purchase, and have much better customer service. Therefore, I would recommend trying alternative and local payment gateways before following the masses and choosing the most popular option.

Well most time PayPal and 2checkout will be sufficient for the majority of businesses online. If you want something where you have your "own" payment page hosted you will need to deal with a real payment gateway like Authorize.net, wirecard, worldpay and similar. Most often the latter is a more complicated process and also much more expensive to setup.

Look for all of the important ones, paypal, 2checkout and worldpay seem among the most popular ones depending of course upon your location.

I used plimus / bluesnap and it was the only that really worked like a charm
