OK...so with SEO it's never ending game of chase your tail. What works now? What has "legs" to work for the long term? What is out now?

I remember when i could blast the site with 50,000 links and be #1. :-)

THx

I am probably reiterating what is already known by many, but content is king right now. Polished and relevant content is always step one. But then afterwards I focus a lot on social networking, then again your niche maybe different.

those were the days weren't they:rolleyes:

On page, aged domains, low-competition keywords and relevant content still rule.

Off page, high PR authority backlinks, edu/gov links, and 'newsy' site links (like Google news, press releases, wikipedia links, etc) are effective and won't be questioned by the SEs.

Content is Kind right now every one know , But link building also need to get good results in search engine

High pr back links from authority sites.
Guest blog
Press release
Popular Social bookmarking
Video marketing
Clean link pyramid
High pr comment on low OBL blog directly on money site.
Add some social media links

Basically, you just need to build a realistic amount of back links daily and above all quality ones too.

People who blast links or do not pick the kind of site they link to are at the risk of getting penalized.

My latest SEO "project: worked quite well and this is what I did: built 5 Web 2.0s with unique content, blasted them with all kinds of 2nd tier links (waited a week just to make sure that none would get deleted), built bookmarks to the money site (used even low quality sites, something that I probably shouldn't have done), built web 2.0 profile links directly to the money site (not forum profile links), built do follow wikis directly to the money site (span content, again unique would've been better), and built thousands of 3rd tier profile links. Used pretty good variety of anchors in order to dilute the main keyphrases and used a lot of "click here" "click this link" "check this site out," etc. generic keywords.

As I said, it worked well, but will it work tomorrow or two weeks from now? That I can't promise ;)
