What needs to be changed if a Link is blocked from Facebook?

Hello,

when a link gets blocked by facebook what need to be changed in order to have it unblocked.
As far as I read in other threads, it is not enough to change the URL of the Link, it will be still blocked.

Some people said it is enough to change preview image, title and description, but other say that the fb crawler is following the redirects and compares the content of the website.

What is true?

If the second example is true, what needs to be done, to have it not blocked?

You need to look at ways to not let FB see your real site. Look at cloaking and redirects etc. If the FB crawler goes to your site and finds affiliate links to CPA companies then it wont matter what you change on the site, they will block it.

Well but I am not talking about affliate links or CPA links, it is just an viral article that sometimes get blocked and I want to know what to do to get it unblocked. Without cloacking, I am already using a javascript redirect, is it enough then just to change link, description, title and image of the link, or do I still need to change something with the conent on my page ?

On one of my domains when it was still fresh facebook was continually blocking if after 3 a 4 shares from different profiles.
I have only changed link ( if it was domain.com/post i`ve changed to domain.com/post1), along with link i changed also preview image (this is necessary) as sometimes only image gets blocked and it wont let link to be shared. By change i mean i only risize it by 2 or 3 px , modify a little contrast, brightnes and reupload it with different name.jpg
I sometimes changed title, description but i dont think these two matter that most.

Would it be enough to just ad a watermark on the image, and when it gets blocked use another water mark which is really small ?

Use Paint and edit the image size smaller to 99% both ways. If its the image then that should be enough to trick FB. Have you tried to post on your FB just the images from the page you are linking to. ie www.yoursite.com/image1.jpg and see which one gets a captcha .

Okay so my watermarking idea wouldn't work ? do you have a blocked image right now ? I deleted my last article which had it. Because I would like to test it, with resizing (making it bigger works? or only making it smaller ?) and watermark.

I have never tried watermarking. If I do get a blocked image I just make it 99% and save it as a different jpg and upload it. Never been a problem for me.

Okay great thank you but what if all the images just got the size to be displayed as big preview? If i make it 1% smaller then, it would have a small preview, any suggestions?

Minimum size for big preview is 470x246 ( i am not 100 % sure about 246 ) i think , if image go smaller than that, link will be displayed on that other way with image of left side

Yes for desktop:

• Image Size: 400×209 pixels

and for mobile:

• Image Size: 560×292 pixels

And I just saw that I am wrong my images are still big enough

But if anyone of you have a blocked image, please send it to me I want to test the water mark solution

is the centre image copyrighted that you are unaware of?
