What Methods to Make Money with Torrents

a few years back when i first joined, i made $4,500 using torrents... uploading files... password the files.. and write a text file...

inside this text file:

thanks for downloading, go to this website and click on an ad, this will activate your password [that was total bullshit :) ], then open your file...

i managed to keep this going for 3 weeks until the G hammered me (predictably)

this method has been saturated.
is there any one else still making money from torrents.
 
why not just post what you got on youtube, and on blogs, then put your stuff up and content lock it

Yes, and over one 1k a week, however it's not like it used to be 2 years ago when you could expect several thousand dL's in a 24 hour period from just piratebay alone.
If you want to make good $$ with torrents now it's a volume game and takes real determinination you need good servers and good tools and test a lot of cpa companies to find which ones will work for you and pay - this takes some creative thinking /testing on your part.
 
If I have alot of unique content and I can make 100's of videos a day of something thats in demand, could I be successful with a private torrent site,that I also seed with several 100Mb/s connections.

in my view it should surely help you earn some money even after spending money on your servers and other shit.

I just started about a month ago in IM and I've just played with torrents so far. I'm making $20+ per day on average and rising.

I'm doing the passworded-rar-within-a-rar technique and using one of the PPD sites, but I'm thinking I should sign up for a CPA network + content locker type of deal... Just not sure how friendly they are to this type of traffic...

I'd suggest you run a little test with your home connection before you think of going big (maybe you already did that?). That's the approach I took... then when I saw some money coming in and the bandwidth becoming a problem I signed up for a seedbox.

I'm not even close to being expert, but I've learned some useful things and may be able to help... feel free to PM me if you think that's the case.
