The moment anyone hears 'memecoin,' the only thing they think about is a short-term project or even valueless ones that someone will just buy and sell for gains only. And if that person isn't smart enough, they'll lose their money because it may go down. However, that may not be true because there are some memecoins that are doing great and have had a significant market cap for a very long time.Coins like $DOGE and $SHIB have made people money and are still making them money up until now. We, as lovers of meme coins, are supposed to be able to change the narrative and the bad PR that memecoins get. Just this week, I went to check on some solid projects that are getting listed soon on CEXs, and after reviewing the whitepapers, I see that altcoins are overhyped compared to memecoins. Projects like Memecore (M), which is getting listed soon with the opportunity to earn 50% of the deposit, are mainly made for shifting meme coins from short-term speculation to long-term cultural and economic forces. There are many more like that; if we do great research, we'll find them. Are you still holding any memecoin?

Yes I’m holding a few but the issue with DOGE and SHIB is they came out when there were very very little memecoins.

Now in the time it took me to write this message 20+ new memecoins have been deployed and another 10 by the time I click ‘post’

Supply is FAR greater then the demand especially now in mid 2025

Yes i understand the perspective you are coming from, we that are memecoins holders just need to put them out there so other ecosystem won't give it bad pr and buy the necessary and solid project that are memecoins like the one i mentioned above, but DYOR

I agree with you but it’s hard to form a cult around something when there are thousands of others exactly like it.

Even in my circle a lot of my friends are backing a different project - Liquidity is divided and holders are thin per coin

As for my personal holdings I do have a small percentage of my portfolio allocated to memecoins but I'm very selective and do my due diligence beforehand. It's a high-risk high-reward game for sure.

Yes I'm also holding memecoin, however, because there are so many memecoins launched daily, it's important to be vigilant about which projects you invest in. Doge and Shib still have a lot of potential and could be great crypto picks right now.

You are right change begins with me and you, we are holding a project we have believe in and also holding the DEVS accountable, as we call out any project trying to list on memecoins system just for gains, that is why i see M a good one, following closely since its tge

Well said. Memecoins definitely get a bad rep, but projects like DOGE, SHIB, and now even Memecore are showing there’s potential beyond hype if backed by real utility and community. Still holding a few and watching closely!

For DOGE, you’re right - the space wasn’t as convoluted as it is today. Shib launched in ‘21 during the DXsale hype/memecoin mania, as far as I remember the space was as degenerate filled as it is today - yes, I know it’s hard to imagine.
