im a little confused about keywords. What i want to know is what kind of keywords should i go for?

Im getting confused with the numbers.

For example if a keyword gets 5,400 searches a month, is that good or is it too low?

I would appreciate it if someone could give me a rough guideline on the numbers as keyword research is hugely important + i dont want to get it wrong.

Btw i have used the search button + i didnt find anything similar to this, but i apologize if this kind of thing has already been answered. thnx

    A good keyword is:

    Searches>Result

    simple as that

use google's keyword tool and set the setting to "exact" mode.
Anything above 1000 is generally considered as a good long tail keyword.
