What low cost Video Editors do you use?

Windows Movie maker, VirtualDub...on Linux you also have Kino and Cinelerra which is somewhat feature complete, but is not maintenaned and is hard to install.

If you can swing it, Adobe Premiere pro is a very good program for the money. I'm not really sure you could call it low cost at aroun1200 dollars. Camtasia is a pretty decent program and only costs a few hundred. Its good for screen capture films and is ok for editing video from an external camera.

Do yourself a favor, learn on a pro software package like Adobe premiere, Vegas pro, Final Cut pro... each of these programs have cheaper dumbed down version, and when you make enough you can buy the full blown versions assuming you want to stay legit.

They have steep learning curves but between all the tutorials on youtube and tutorial sites, shouldn't take long to learn the basics.

The cheaper programs other than those 3 will be easier to learn, but you will develop bad habits as they have non standarized controls and you won't be able to transition to the bigger pro programs in an easy way as those all for the most part have standardized controls.
 
Use Corel Video Studio X5 Pro, that's what I'm using.

No . . . Adobe Premiere Pro falls into the category of "Do Not Share".

All Microsoft and Adobe products are considered "Do Not Share" on BHW.

imovie is pretty cool .. you can just upload to youtube from there
 
Ive got used to iMovie on OSX, it was free with Lion. I also own another 2 or 3 production suites such as Premiere and Final Cut but they are over complicated for what I need. I use Camtasia for any desktop work or PowerPoint recordings.

If you are looking for something in the average low cost price range then camtasia or photoshow producer are good for the $$. I use a mixture of various tools when creating videos. Really depends what I am going for.

It's cheap (free if you keep signing up for the trial over and over again - but it's worth it to buy - try it and you'll see). It's just as powerful as a lot of the premium editors I've used and is very newbie friendly.
 
+1 For Sony Vegas, very user friendly and powerful for a small price.
