For quick viewing, resizing/cropping and small color auto corrections I used a program called Infranview

Like everyone else said as well, GIMP. Free and lots of tutorials out there for you.

Photoshop is my first choice ,it's free you can download it from any free ware site.
Next choice GIMP and Photo mania they are also free ,
more over their tutorial too.
