For IM related stuff? Well having nearly everything automated and using the beautiful program Dragon Naturally Speaking for giving instruction to my computer and use it to write textes...
This program is the shit if you use it correctly. Talk with your PC and it does what you want. Simple and awesome.

Letting go.
Letting go of all the things I tried to do myself and outsourcing most of it.
Video editing, some link building, reporting etc.
The key is to get stuff done and finished, not perfect. You build on that.
There is only one of you and its no shame getting others to build your dreams.
